After the shock of HYT going out of business in February 2021, we were happy to read that the creator of mechanical timepieces with coloured fluid displays would resume its operation in November. Davide Cerrato was appointed as CEO, who pressed the reset button on HYT’s strategy. While in Geneva, we were eager to hear about the new directions and see the novelties.
In Geneva, Zenith presented the revamped Chronomaster Open line as well as the new Chronomaster Sport under its new ‘Master of Chronographs Since 1865’ concept – with a traveling exhibition and an online platform.
Patek Philippe, itself a novelty at the Watches and Wonders, released fantastic casual additions to their Calatrava collection. The time and date 5226G is an instant love, while dressing from the same wardrobe, the 5326G Annual Calendar Travel Time combines the two complications for the first time in a Patek Philippe piece.
Inspired by the Marine Clock No.8 that earned Ferdinand Berthoud the royal warrant in 1770, the manufacture introduced the Chronomètre FB RSM this Spring. The highly precise movement includes a deadbeat seconds and a stop-seconds mechanism.
Vacheron Constantin’s Historiques collection is now enriched by the 222, a contemporary re-edition of the Maison’s iconic 1977 ‘Jumbo’. We saw the novelty at Watches and Wonders 2022.

Jaeger-LeCoultre summoned the starry night skies of the Vallée de Joux in the dazzling bustle of the Watches and Wonders. Among other creations the manufacture presented two new celestial timepieces based on the fantastic Calibre 945 and an Atmos clock displaying the relative positions and movements of Earth, the Moon and the Sun.
Roger Dubuis presented new additions to the Knights of the Roundtable series. This time, the extreme finishing is paired with extremely detailed knight miniatures frozen in motion and an appealing play of light on Murano glass.
