Vacheron Constantin is back to Homo Faber – celebrating artisanal talents in a wide range of disciplines, like fine watchmaking, enamelling or engraving. The Geneva Maison exhibited at the ‘Details: Genealogies of Ornament’ set in the Nautical School exhibition area at Fondazione Giorgio Cini.
The motto – ‘Crafting a more human future’ – of Homo Faber reflects the dedication for the beauty of creation, and the amazement of the ever-curious free mind. The Homo Faber opened its gates on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore between 10 April – 1 May, 2022.
At the first show appearance since the management bought out Kering this January, Ulysse Nardin invited us to a Vertical Odyssey at the Watches and Wonders 2022 with three novelties: the Moonstruck (already announced in February), the first double oscillator Freak S, and the Freak X with aventurine.
At its first Watches and Wonders Rolex unveiled its latest collection of new watches for this year, which includes the platinum Day-Date 40, latest version of the Air-King or the ‘southpaw’ GMT-Master II.
After the shock of HYT going out of business in February 2021, we were happy to read that the creator of mechanical timepieces with coloured fluid displays would resume its operation in November. Davide Cerrato was appointed as CEO, who pressed the reset button on HYT’s strategy. While in Geneva, we were eager to hear about the new directions and see the novelties.
In Geneva, Zenith presented the revamped Chronomaster Open line as well as the new Chronomaster Sport under its new ‘Master of Chronographs Since 1865’ concept – with a traveling exhibition and an online platform.
