This year’s Luxury Innovation Summit will take place on 18- 20 September 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. The 5th edition will provide expert insights on fashion, beauty, timepieces, yachts and cars, real estate, high-end travel, vintage and collectables, art industry, and venture capital in the luxury sector.
The Luxury Innovation Summit was initiated by the Luxury Venture Group (LVG) in 2019. LVG is a Swiss-based incubator, accelerator, and venture capital investor for startups from the luxury industry, led by Deependra Pandey, founder and CEO.
The Summit moved to the Palexpo – the Hall 3 offers a great exhibiting space for the Luxury Innovation Pavilion, dedicated to showcasing and promoting innovation in the luxury industry. The on-stage Summit program will include panel discussions and roundtables of global industry themes. The conversations are around the topics of luxury fashion and beauty sector, watches and jewellery, latest trends and technologies in the luxury travel industry or innovations in the art market. Speakers will consist of international luxury leaders, entrepreneurs, and industry insiders.
The ‘presenting partners’ of the Summit are the Richemont Group and the global e-commerce leader eBay. (Underlining the increasing demand of luxury items on eBay, the platform is partnering with other luxury initiatives as well, like the ReLuxury event last year.)
Important concept of LVG is to carefully select promising startups from the high end sector. LVG uses its unique ecosystem to support its portfolio companies in their journey towards success. LVG’s network helps these startups grow and make them investment-ready for Series A and beyond, and provides them with new investors / co-investors and the fund-raising phases.
The Luxury Innovation Awards and the newly launched Young Talent Luxury Innovation Awards serve this purpose – both offer global competition for emerging luxury brands, startups and students to present their unique ideas for the luxury market.
The Luxury Innovation Awards has five categories this year, the finalists will be announced on 29 June, at a press conference in Geneva. (One of the previous winners was THE RAYY, a jewellery startup founded in 2018 – we covered them here. )
The Jury for the 2023 edition: Tirath Kamdar (General Manager Luxury at eBay), Pedro Lopez Belmonte (Web3 & Technology Innovation Senior Manager at Richemont), Stanislas de Quercize (Board Member, Founder, and President of SAVIH), François Arpels (CEO and Senior Advisor to luxury brands), Emma Newell (Senior Commercial Director at Getty Images), Andrea Machalova (Deputy Editor in Chief and Head at Bilan Luxe), Violaine Gressier (Global Industry Head, Luxury & Beauty at Meta), Isabelle Bonfanti (Chief Commercial Officer at Coty), Jean-Marie Schaller (CEO and Creative Director at Louis Moinet), Serge Maillard (Publisher at Europa Star HBM), Daniela Ott (Secretary-General at Aura Blockchain Consortium), Karine Szegedi (Managing Partner for Consumer Industry and Fashion & Luxury lead at Deloitte Switzerland).
Deependra Pandey, CEO of LVG, says: I am thrilled to announce the 2023 edition of the Luxury Innovation Summit, the premier gathering of luxury innovators and industry leaders. This year, we have elevated the Summit by adding 9 new key themes to the program, offering a comprehensive and cutting-edge look at the latest trends, technologies, and developments in the luxury industry. The addition of the LIS Event Portal enhances the networking experience for attendees, providing them with easy access to personal and company profile creation and maintenance. And the Luxury Innovation Pavilion, with its upgraded exhibition space, offers a platform for attendees and exhibitors to showcase and explore the latest trends and technologies.
