PRESS RELEASE: 15 January, 2018

IWC Schaffhausen celebrates 150 years in 2018 – the company presented a special Jubilee collection at SIHH 2018 that consists of 27 limited-edition models. The overarching design elements these timepieces share are the white-blue color-scheme, the dials coated in a long and complex process with up to 12 layers of high-quality lacquer, the elegant black alligator leather straps, and a commemorative „150 Years” insignia.

Digital time – a tribute to the Pallweber pocket watch

The IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition „150 Years” is a special highlight of the collection. A tribute to the 19th century pocketwatch, the once revolutionary form of time display is now offered by a wristwatch in three versions: an 18k red gold case with a white lacquered dial and white disc, a platinum case with white dial and blue display discs and a stainless steel version with blue dial and white display discs. Inside the in-hjouse 94200 calibre. Patent is pending for the digital display solution.

IWC Portugieser collection

The Portugieser Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition “150 Years” is only available in a limited edition of 15, with a platinum case and a contrasting white dial-blue hands color combination. The watch features a constant-force tourbillon resulting in a high level of precision, along with a moon phase display that only needs to be adjusted by 1 day after 577.5 years.

The Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon Edition “150 Years” shows the day, date, month, year, moon phase and has seven-day power reserve and a tourbillon. All on the white dial, wrapped up by an 18k gold Portugieser case. This watch is driven by the newly developed 51950 calibre.

IWC Da Vinci collection

The Da Vinci Automatic Moon Phase 36 Edition “150 Years” revives IWC’s tradition of jewellery watches, which was mostly present towards the end of the 1980s and during the 1990s. This wristwatch has a red gold case, a white dial and blue hands, and features a moon phase display, but what sets it apart from the other pieces is the completely diamond-covered case and lugs.

The Da Vinci Automatic Edition “150 Years” is the first watch to feature the new IWC-manufactured 82200 calibre, which is an automatic movement with a power reserve of 60 hours. The watch has a stainless-steel case, blue dial and rhodium-plated hands. Components of this piece such as the pawls or the cam are made of virtually wear-free ceramic, increasing durability.

IWC Portofino collection

IWC Schaffhausen unveiled three limited-edition Portofino models in Geneva as part of the Jubilee collection. The Portofino Hand-Wound Moon Phase comes in gold and stainless steel with a white or blue lacquered dial. The Portofino Chronograph and the Portofino Automatic are also available in the distinctive anniversary design.

IWC Pilot collection

The Big Pilot’s Watch Annual Calendar Edition “150 Years” is the only model in the collection with an annual calendar. Production of the blue dial steel timepiece is limited to 100 units.

The Big Pilot’s Watch Big Date Edition “150 Years” is the first Big Pilot’s Watch from IWC with a date display featuring large numerals beneath the triangular index at “12 o’clock”. Available with the blue and the white dials, each restricted to 100 watches.

With the white dial steel Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Edition “150 Years”, IWC is launching an anniversary edition of this popular chronograph that is limited to 1,000 watches.
