Breitling opened the Then & Now pop-up museum in Zurich downtown in September, as part of its 140th anniversary celebrations. Visitors can discover Breitling’s three universes – Air, Land, and Sea – across three immersive floors, each offering a unique insight into important milestones of the company through interactive displays, rare vintage watches, and interesting stories.
From piloting a plane simulator to exploring the history of different Breitling movements and 88 watches including special editions – the museum has much to offer. The Breitling Café treats the visitors with cocktails, coffee and tasty bites, while the gift shop features various branded items and the special anniversary book, ‘Breitling: 140 Years in 140 Stories’, released by Rizzoli.
Breitling also launched the ‘Heritage Talks’ – a thematic talk series, covering exciting topics every month. Yesterday the museum hosted a panel discussion dedicated to the role of women in the watchmaking industry and the legacy of pioneering female figures.
The participants of the panel were Stéphanie Lachat, Co-Director of the Federal Office for Gender Equality and specialist in watchmaking history, Ana Kitanovic, Femella Zürich’s Head of Learn, Aurélie Streit, Co-Director of the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, Aurelia Figueroa, Breitling’s Chief Sustainability Officer and the discussion was moderated by Jennifer Bochud, Breitling’s Heritage Manager.
On the link here you can check some details, if you happen to be close by – the museum is located in Zurich at Rennweg 14–16, only a short walk away from the Breitling boutique at Bahnhofstrasse 70.
