New M.A.D. in town – MB&F starts the chapter 2 of the M.A.D. wristwatches, the M.A.D.2 is now here. It is available through a now usual raffle system, opening on April 1st – and staying open for a week.

In case you don’t know the backstory of the M.A.D.Editions, please find our short overview here. With a few editions later (in different colours and size), the company announced the next chapter. As MB&F says – ‘born from the mind of Eric Giroud – designer, rebel, and longtime MB&F Friend – this timepiece is a love letter to the wild, electrifying spirit of 1990s club culture’.

The piece is inspired by the club scene of Lausanne in the 1990s – hence the central hour/minutes subdials look like the turntables from a DJ mixing console. The central dial over which they rotate is a love letter to vinyl records, with grooves and satin finishes mimicking music tracks. Surrounding it is the platter, inspired by the stroboscopic band of the legendary Technics SL-1200 Mark 2 turntable, complete with Super-LumiNova stop pins.

The M.A.D.2’s has a 42mm stainless steel rounded pebble case and features a bi-directional jumping hour module developed by the MB&F team. Like the M.A.D.1S, it is powered by the Swiss-made La Joux-Perret G101 calibre, beating at 4Hz and offering 64 hours of power reserve.

The raffle opens on April 1 at 2:00 P.M. Swiss time and will stay live for an entire week, you can register here. There are two editions: Orange reserved for the Tribe and Friends, and the Green for the raffle.
