The M.A.D. is back – a third edition of the M.A.D.1 wristwatch is now here in green. It is available through a raffle system, opening today – and staying open for 2 weeks.
It is all started in June 2021 when MB&F offered a special watch, the M.A.D.1 to its ‘Friends’ under a different label, the M.A.D.Edition. The new name refers to Maximilian Büsser’s other project, the M.A.D. Gallery – as he says: ‘the perfect platform to showcase our own Machines as well as other pieces of kinetic art by other creators whom we greatly admire.’ The creation is not an MB&F timepiece, rather the Max Büsser’s way to appreciate his circle. But since it was coming ‘from him’, the appearance of the watch on social media stirred the water of the mechanical watchmaking.
For this debut piece, MB&F individually invited the members of its ‘Tribe’ to purchase one of the 450 examples of the M.A.D.1 for CHF 1,900. The brand’s most devoted supporters, partners, suppliers and customers are in the Tribe but many watch lover wanted to buy the watch. So MB&F was keen on creating a follow-up version, accessible to more people.
The M.A.D.Edition / M.A.D.1 RED watch was released in 2022, and this launch included a raffle – to make the timepiece available for a wider audience.
On the eShop of the M.A.D. Gallery anyone had the chance to obtain a raffle ticket. After a random draw the winners were able to place an order, this time for a new price. As Max Büsser shared – ‘To make the M.A.D.Editions project sustainable in the long term – because we do have long-term plans for it! – the price of the M.A.D.1 RED is CHF 2,900 before tax.’
The same concept goes with the latest version, the M.A.D.1 GREEN. The raffle for the new edition open from today, 12 September until 26 September. This new edition marks the end of the previous M.A.D.1 RED.

M.A.D.Edition / M.A.D.1 Green

The new M.A.D.1 GREEN watch has a 42mm (and 18.8mm thick) stainless steel case, laterally displayed hours and minutes and with an inverted Miyota 821A automatic movement inside. It is modified with titanium and tungsten winding rotor on top and lateral time display system, featuring revolving hour and minute rings. The M.A.D. look is completed with a black strap with green stitching.
