The new limited edition Altiplano High Jewellery watch is co-signed by Maison Piaget’s Ateliers de l’Extraordinaire and by enamel artist Anita Porchet.
The Piaget icon, the ultra-thin Altiplano is dressed again in a beautiful artistic design – this time combining the ultra-thin 1201D1 automatic skeleton caliber with gem-setting and Grand feu cloisonné enamelling technique.
To create the new white gold 40 mm-diameter Altiplano Skeleton High Jewellery Métiers d’Art watch, the Maison collaborated with one of Switzerland’s most renowned and respected enamelers, Anita Porchet. She is a master artisan from La Chaux-de-Fonds: she began her career in 1988 and she started teaching in 2008. Her skill is constantly in demand by the biggest names in watchmaking and she is working with Piaget since 2006. This limited edition of only eight pieces is co-signed by her.
To create the piece, she applied a palette of blue, green and purple hues in Grand Feu cloisonné enamel, which hugs the dial – on the front and, for the first time, on the back – spreading its colours to the very edge of the bezel.
This visual and technical feat is executed with extreme precision, skilfully completing the effect of perfect fusion between the gradient of baguette cut stones and that of the cloisonné enamel – as half of the bezel is set with diamonds and sapphires.
The caseback is set with brilliant-cut diamonds and shows parts of the skeletonised movement and the reverse side of the delicate enamel work.
