‘Geneva Watch Days – 24 hours in Zurich’

Born out of a temporary need to come together during the pandemic, the Geneva Watch Days has become very popular – the fifth edition will be organised end ot this summer, August 29 – September 2, 2024. The organisers set up a satellite event in Zurich to unveil the final list of 2024 participants.

Yesterday evening the Geneva Watch Days arrived at Aura in Zurich for ‘a pit stop’ with many of the participating brands. Over 350 people gathered at this inaugural get-together to socialize, meet with the brands’ CEOs and teams or participate in watchmaking workshops organized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH).

Geneva Watch Days is a finewatchmaking industry salon founded in September 2020 by eight prestigious watch brands: Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie., MB&F, Ulysse Nardin and Urwerk. The event is also supported by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG).

The success of the first Geneva Watch Days in 2020 has encouraged its organisers to set up the event again and again in a similar format: decentralised, agile, self-managed and open to the public. We were there at every editions so far – please check out our experiences here

Based on the level of collaboration, now there are major donators, main partners, associated brands, regular and junior members among the watch companies. The exhibiting brands of 2024 include: Alpina, Angelus, Armin Strom, Arnolds & Son, Bausele, Beauregard, Behrens, Bianchet, Blancpain, Breguet, Breitling, Bulgari, Byrne, Konstantin Chaykin, Claude Meylan, Corum, Cvstos, Czapek & Cie, Daniel Roth, De Bethune, Doxa, Edox, Favre Leuba, Fortis, Frédérique Constant Group, Genus, Girard-Perregaux, Glashütte Original, Greubel Forsey, Hautlence, HYT, Jacob & Co, Krayon, Laurent Ferrier, Lederer, L’Epée, Louis Erard, Massena Lab, Maurice Lacroix, MB&F, Micromilspec, Ming, H. Moser & Cie., Oris, Perrelet, Phillips in association with Bacs & Russo, Raketa, Reservoir, Ressence, Singer, Speake Marin, Trilobe, Tutima Glashütte.

‘The increasing success of the Geneva Watch Days must be attributed to the participating brands, as well as the constant support from our partners, especially the State and the City of Geneva. The 2024 edition looks very promising,” stated Antoine Pin, President of the Geneva Watch Days Association and Director of Bulgari Watches.

‘Being based in German-speaking Switzerland, and with the support of the other brands present tonight, H. Moser & Cie. initiated this wonderful project to bring the Geneva Watch Days across the Sarine. We warmly invite all the guests who attended this Zurich edition to join us at the end of August in Geneva. From the Limmat to the Léman, it is just a short hop. The event is worth the trip, with an increasingly rich program that is more and more open to the public,’ mentioned Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie.

‘Breitling, as a founding brand of the Geneva Watch Days, supports the initiative to move the show to German-speaking Switzerland for a day to give it more visibility. This way, we provide a platform for the smaller Geneva Watch Day brands, which otherwise have no presence here. Having so many representatives of the watch industry gathered in Zurich is a first,’ said Georges Kern, CEO of Breitling.

Now not only more brands are joining but the visitors have even more options to discover novelties from the more than 50 watch companies –  the 2024 dates will include a full weekend with a special program for the public.

The ‘Geneva Watch Days, 24 hours in Zurich’ event on 4 June provided the latest news about GWD 2024 – the final list of participants, program and gave a sneak peek of the upcoming novelties and celebrations scheduled in Geneva from August 29th to September 2nd, 2024.
