SEVENFRIDAY brought a wide range of goodies to Geneva, including some regular watch staples in the collection, upcoming novelties and edgy sunnies.
The last week of August is always kind of sad as in many places in the world the summer approaches its end. Of course there is an increasing expectation about the new season, but still – for many of us it is not easy to let the summer go.
SEVENFRIDAY did everything to keep us in the sunshine-mood – they set up in the Buvette des Bains restaurant at the most popular urban beach for many citizens of Geneva, the Bains des Pâquis. It is very close to everything downtown (just in front of the Fairmont Grand Hotel) offering you the beautiful view onto the lake, the Jet d’Eau and even the nice buildings on the lakeside. The weather was close to perfection and we had a tasty lunch in the lively atmosphere of the huge terrace and checked out watches with the SEVENFRIDAY team – what else would you need for a Monday in the #liveSEVENFRIDAY attitude?
SEVENFRIDAY celebrates its 10th birthday this year – it is more than a watch company, it is a lifestyle brand that creates industrial-inspired watches, eyewear, apparel and accessories for like-minded people. They have retailers but they like to meet with their current and future customers at the SEVENFRIDAY Spaces, in Singapore, Indonesia, Bahrain and Taipei for example. Check out more about the concept and our first encounter with the brand here.
PS1/03 & PS1/04
The PS1/03 and the just launched PS1/04 are also part of the 10th anniversary festivities. These are inspired by the laid-back coastal life (or at least a holiday somewhere close to the ocean) and the details of a yacht or a boat, by featuring nautical elements.
The design is based on the classic P-Series and the skeletonized S-Series. The automatic MIYOTA 82S5 movement ticks inside and – as usual from SEVENFRIDAY – an NFC chip allows the secure authentication and registration in the 7F App.
The PS1/03 is destined to be out and about on the water. It has a vivid blue-white-silvery colour palette, completed by the navy blue suede strap. It features a special animation ring made-out of 3 layers – the central layer in waxed American walnut – reminiscent of the classic yacht interiors and external layers in matt white Corian. (Corian by DuPont, the chemical industry giant, is a premium decorative surface, which does not lose its visual appearance or fade for a long time.)
The PS1/04 opts for a slightly toned-down look, inspired by the colours and surfaces of the steamboats. The case has a bronzy, patinated effect paired with a less vivid blue. Its animation ring in antique-brass double PVD, as the bezel too, with navy blue bottom ring. The dial has the skeletonized, 5-layer construction with a bronze coloured ring under the hour markers. This latest model has a navy blue genuine straight-cut and padded calf skin leather strap, with tone on tone stitching and a special case back mentioning the Off-series and the NFC chip in ‘anchor’ design.
Of course we couldn’t resist to try on other – some sold out – SEVENFRIDAY pieces as well, please check out below in the gallery!
