Joining the Heritage collection, which pays homage to Alpina’s historic legacy, is a new model available in two 38mm versions. We tried them on at the Geneva Watch Days.
Alpina’s exclusive Heritage collection has featured only two lines so far: Alpiner Heritage Carrée (two models) and Seastrong Heritage (three models). This August the company presented a new round timepiece in two versions, inspired by classic vintage styles dating back to the 1920s – more precisely by a watch with a 25.7 mm diameter from the Maison’s archive.
The Heritage Automatic has two blue dauphine hands and sector dial minute track. For this model, even the original typeface of the Alpina logo has been restored, only the essentials appear. Two versions are available: one with an all-beige dial with 12 Arabic numerals; and one with a beige centre, a satin-finish grey hour circle and alternating bronze-coloured hour markers and 4 Arabic numerals.
The novelty houses the AL-520 calibre with a 38-hour power reserve and automatic winding. that the models of yesteryear did not always have. On the dial, as in the past, the number of rubies – a sign of prestige in those days – is displayed at 6 o’clock: “26 jewels”.
These timepieces will be soon available at the brand’s website.
