Armin Strom presents a new interpretation of the Mirrored Force Resonance, distinguished by a dial crafted from natural ruby.
Armin Strom is an independent watch company, originally founded in 1967 by Armin Strom. Under the leadership of watch enthusiast Serge Michel and master watchmaker Claude Greisler, the company started the production of its own mainplates, bridges, levers, springs, wheels, pinions and screws in 2008. In 2009 they opened a fully integrated Manufacture in Biel/Bienne.
Science of Movement
Renowned for its artisanal, low-volume approach, the brand meticulously hand-finishes every component to haute horology standards, with a signature focus on exposing movement mechanics on the dial side.
The Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance model was first introduced in November 2016, marking the debut of Armin Strom’s patented resonance system in a wristwatch. Since then, multiple evolutions and limited editions have followed, including redesigned movements (2022) and Manufacture Editions.
Armin Strom Mirrored Force Resonance Ruby
Housed in a 43 mm stainless steel case and paired with a grey Alcantara strap with white stitching, the novelty is a strictly limited series of 5 timepieces. The dial is crafted from natural ruby, in collaboration with a local stone artisan.
Each piece is finely cut from a genuine ruby, selected for the depth of its colour and the nuances only nature can create. No two stones are identical. Fine inclusions and tonal variations are the signatures of authenticity – traces of a material formed over millions of years.
At the heart of the timepiece beats the manual-winding manufacture Calibre ARF21, entirely designed, developed and produced in-house with hand-finishing (hand-polished bevels, black-polished screws, perlage and circular graining decorations).
Its patented Resonance Clutch synchronises two independent regulating systems, allowing the twin balance wheels to oscillate in harmonic resonance. The result is enhanced chronometric stability and long-term precision. A pusher at 2 o’clock resets both seconds counters simultaneously, offering a visual demonstration of the resonance phenomenon in action. Operating at 3.5 Hz (25,200 vph) with a 48-hour power reserve, the movement transforms a centuries-old scientific principle into a modern mechanical achievement.
