Just before the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix (5 October), H. Moser & Cie presents today the Streamliner Tourbillon Pierre Gasly, a collaboration with BWT Alpine F1 Team’s racing driver.

The cooperation between H. Moser & Cie and Alpine Motorsports officially started in February 2024. The Schaffhausen based watch manufacture became the first-ever Global Partner for all Alpine motorsports programs.  H.Moser & Cie supports the BWT Alpine F1 Team, Alpine Endurance Team, Alpine Academy, Rac(H)er, and other adrenaline-fuelled projects and their drivers, of course.

Pierre Jean-Jacques Gasly (February 7, 1996) is a French racing driver who competes in Formula One for Alpine. He joined Alpine ahead of the 2023 season and he has now committed his long-term future to the team by signing a contract extension that will see him race for the French manufacturer until at least the end of the 2028 campaign.

He has partnered with H. Moser & Cie as an ambassador and also collaborator in designing watches; like an interesting duo-watch release back in May including the Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition and the Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition.

As we heard at the press conference, Pierre Gasly collaborated closely with the watchmakers at the manufacture. Thus, the meeting between him and H. Moser & Cie resulted in a watch that really reflects his image and matches his style. Edouard Meylan, CEO of H. Moser & Cie enthuses: ‘From the moment we first met, Pierre had a very clear idea of what he wanted. We offered him dozens of alternatives to challenge him, to push him off the beaten track. But each time, true to his instincts, he returned to this piece. His own, as we now present it.’

Pierre insisted on the combination of the red gold metal and the rich brown tones and also preferred to include a tourbillon. Following his design ideas, the ‘Moser classic’ Streamliner 40mm 5N red gold case is paired with a new Chocolate fumé dial, an intense shade of rich, nuanced brown. The H. Moser & Cie logo only appears on the dial in the most discreet form, in transparent lacquer. The one-minute flying tourbillon is positioned at six o’clock. The automatic HMC 805 calibre is equipped with a double hairspring designed and produced in-house by H. Moser & Cie’s sister company Precision Engineering AG.

Two variants have been created for this collaboration. The first, produced in a limited edition of one hundred pieces, comes with a chocolate-coloured rubber strap that emphasises the piece’s sport-chic character.

The second is limited to only ten pieces. Ten, like Pierre’s racing number – to which he is very attached. To pay tribute to him, a red ruby has been set at ten o’clock – a symbolic touch, an intimate, almost secret nod that only the most attentive will notice. This precious version is fitted with an integrated 5N red gold bracelet.
