Renaud Tixier Monday Organica

Limited to only seven pieces, the Monday  Organica fuses Dominique  Renaud’s patented micro‑rotor technology with the masterful dial artistry of Ateliers Olivier Vaucher, delivering a watch that feels as much like a kinetic sculpture as a high‑precision instrument.

Founded by the legendary watchmaker Dominique Renaud and young talent Julien Tixier, Renaud Tixier has positioned itself at the crossroads of tradition and avant‑garde engineering. Emerging from Renaud’s four‑decade career and Tixier’s fresh design sensibility, Renaud Tixier pursues a clear mission: revisit the fundamentals of micro-mechanics in order to push haute horlogerie beyond merely combining complications.

Monday and Monday Organica

The brand’s ethos is encapsulated in its ‘Monday’ collection, the first of a seven staged journey in micro-mechanics. Each stage will be linked to a distinct technical concept and a day of the week. Focusing on high-efficiency energy generation, Monday has introduced an ingenious micro-rotor mechanism that translates the smallest wrist moves to running time.

The RVI2023 bespoke movement is built around Renaud’s hallmark micro‑rotor, an ultra‑thin, centrally‑mounted inertia wheel that captures wrist motion more efficiently than conventional rotors. It feeds energy to the mainspring via a compact gear train while keeping the movement slim (10.5 mm without crystal). The dancer spring, positioned alongside the rotor, acts as a mechanical amplifier and shock absorber: it stores and releases elastic energy to boost the rotor’s torque, smooths winding during brief movements, and disengages the winding train during strong impacts to protect the movement. Together these mechanisms deliver higher winding efficiency, a stable 60‑hour power reserve, The caliber comprises 274 components. The balance wheel on the titanium balance bridge operates at 2.5 Hz (18 000 vph).

Unveiled on 1 September 2025 in Nyon, the Monday Organica marks the first collaboration between Renaud Tixier and the celebrated Ateliers Olivier Vaucher. Only seven units will be created, each bearing the signatures of both creators on the case‑back, a testament to the partnership’s co‑creative spirit.

The dial is where the watch truly transcends conventional horology. Crafted over 112 hours, it unites multi‑level hand engraving, grand‑feu enamel, and textured surface treatments to create a miniature landscape that shifts with the light. A translucent blue enamel washes over hand‑engraved motifs, evoking a kaleidoscopic interpretation of the movement’s architecture and components. The result is a subtle and cryptic mirroring the watch’s mechanical ballet.

Encased in polished platinum, the 40.8 mm case measures 10.5 mm thick (12.6 mm with the domed sapphire crystal) and features hand‑engraved flanks and lugs. The barrel ratchet wheel cover, a visible component of the movement, is hand‑chiseled and finished in violet grand‑feu enamel, echoing the dial’s chromatic narrative.

Collectors may choose between blue or black grained calf‑leather straps, each hand‑stitched using the wallet‑style (turned‑edge) technique, reinforcing the watch’s commitment to artisanal detail.

By limiting production to single‑digit runs, Renaud Tixier cultivates rarity, authenticity, and a personal connection with collectors who value both the story behind the movement and the hand‑crafted beauty of its exterior.

The Monday Organica will be offered through Renaud Tixier’s authorized retailers already this month. Each watch arrives with a dual‑signed certificate, underscoring its status as a collaborative masterpiece and a rare addition to any high‑horology collection.

In terms of corporate structure, Renaud Tixier sits atop a broader horological operation called Manufacture Dominique Renaud, which combines dedicated hubs for development and production. While the brand’s watches stay ultra‑exclusive, the company adds an agile, scalable manufacturing layer that can adapt to market needs and eventually serve third‑party clients. Backed by private investors familiar with the sector, the group aims to be a long‑term partner for global fine‑watch distributors, emphasizing talent management and honoring founders Dominique Renaud and Julien Tixier.
