This spring Maurice Lacroix launched the AIKON Automatic Wotto Limited Edition, a watch that fuses Swiss watchmaking expertise with two artists’ talent and creativity.

In 2021, a Hungarian artist, Timeengraver engraved an AIKON watch and presented it to the world on Instagram. His real name is István Szíjjártó, renowned for his intricate hand-engraved designs on wristwatches. This independent artistic expression caught the attention of Maurice Lacroix, and with his approval the company launched the limited AIKON Automatic Urban Tribe and AIKON Automatic Skeleton Urban Tribe.

With the AIKON Automatic Wotto Limited Edition the brand moved this engraved concept further – the latest timepiece is made in cooperation with Craig Watkins, known professionally as Wotto. He is a British-born, now California based artist celebrated for his distinctive ‘doodle’ art style.

His approach to urban art quickly resonated with audiences and his wide portfolio is leading him to collaborations with major brands such as Disney, Converse, Billabong, and IKEA.

The AIKON Automatic Wotto Limited Edition has a 42 mm steel case – and case itself, the bracelet and the bezel are entirely engraved with motifs from Wotto’s prolific imagination. Mushrooms, little hearts, skateboarding ghosts, and lightning flashes surround the artist’s signature capital W. The dial has a grey background and is decorated with a round of mischievous characters in a gradation from yellow to blue.

The novelty is powered by the automatic ML115 caliber with a 38-hour power reserve and it is water-resistant to a depth of 200 meters.
