Maurice Lacroix presented the new AIKON Skeleton Urban Tribe at the Eastwest boutique hotel during the Geneva Watch Days.
The contemporary, relaxed and nonchalant atmosphere of the Eastwest Hotel in downtown Geneva has been the right setting for Maurice Lacroix to present their novelties for many years already. This August, the brand proudly celebrates the urban life with the all new AIKON Skeleton Urban Tribe timepiece.
Following the success of the AIKON Urban Tribe – launched and quickly sold out in 2021 – the new timepiece features a similar aesthetic but this time in a broadly wearable 39mm stainless steel case and a skeletonized structure. The case and the 5 rows bracelet are laser engraved with patterns inspired by the concrete, glass and steel constructions of cities. This motif continues by the hights and depths of the skeleton movement revealing always different parts thanks to the moving lights and components. The caliber is the exclusive Automatic ML135 (base SW200), the result of collaboration with the movement specialist, Sellita.
Contrasting the skeleton ‘background’ the hour and minute hands are facetted and filled with Super-LumiNova®, while the dial is framed with luminescent indexes and a dark grey flange.
The timepiece has an integrated bracelet, equipped with the company’s Easy Strap Exchange System, providing a simple, user-friendly means of swapping the strap without the need for tools.
Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, adds, ‘… This is a watch made for city dwellers who love the excitement and noise of an urban landscape. It emulates the structures of tall buildings that showcase their many structural components, juxtaposing strength with airiness and transparency. Limited to 500 pieces, the new AIKON Skeleton Urban Tribe is wonderfully executed, has an impressive specification and upholds our reputation for delivering high perceived value.’
Maurice Lacroix has other cool new pieces in the pipeline for this autumn, so stay tuned!
