This November, Frederique Constant came out with new models in its precious Manufacture line for women looking for a refined design and great value combo. The attractive novelties join the Slimline Moonphase Manufacture sub-collection in three versions.

Frederique Constant presented its first in-house movement in 2004, the development of which began in 2001. In 2006 they moved into a 3,200 sqm building in the Plan-les-Ouates district of Geneva, with dedicated sectors for movement component production, calibre assembly, watch assembly and quality control. Following the acquisition of Frederique Constant, Alpina Watches and Ateliers deMonaco by Citizen Group in 2016, a further extension of the production facilities were undertaken (doubling in size) and officially inaugurated in 2019. These steps were important to maintain the goal of the founders Aletta (Bax) Stas and Peter Stas for ‘accessible luxury’ and to have more control over the production line, improve quality and product delivery at the same time.

Today Frederique Constant offers the Manufacture collection, based on two in-house developed and assembled calibre families: the 900 series and the 700 series. Their repertoire includes price/value-conscious models as well as complex ones with tourbillon or perpetual calendar or the innovative Monolithic (with a one-piece silicon oscillator beating at 288,000 vibrations per hour, 40 Hz).

The new release targets women who prefer the elegance of the Slimline models and are picky to have an in-house calibre too. The Slimline Moonphase Manufacture pieces incorporate the automatic FC-702 calibre with hours, minutes, date and moonphase function and have a 38 hour power reserve.

Two out of the three new models are in a rose gold-plated 38.8mm case and the third one comes in steel. In all versions, the bezel is decorated with 60 diamonds, nicely framing the blue-grey or the silver-toned dial. The watch face has two central hands, a date counter at 9 o’clock, a moon phase indicator at 3 o’clock and 8 diamond hour indexes.

All new models come with two straps, one in dark blue stitched alligator leather and another in navy blue rubber. Both are easy to swap and coordinate it with you outfit, thanks to the ‘quick change’ system.

With more and more women appreciating mechanical watches, Frederique Constant is determined to offer strong options for them. The Slimline Moonphase Manufacture line comes as an addition to their already successful Highlife Ladies Automatic and Ladies Automatic Double Heart Beat models.
