H. Moser & Cie. Pioneer Flying Hours

At the Geneva Watch Days 2025 H. Moser & Cie. debuted the Pioneer Flying Hours in two models, powered by the HMC 240 automatic calibre, for a fluid and captivating time display.

The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Flying Hours appeared in 2018 with a 42mm white gold Endeavour case, a Funky Blue dial and with the HMC 806 manufacture movement inside. Its main sapphire disc in the centre displays the minutes on a 240° sector; three smaller discs bearing four hour numerals each are arranged around it. Unlike traditional wandering hours displays, where the hours disks revolve around the dial, here the hours disks remain in the same position and the minutes track turns around it.

As a new interpretation and a more direct time display, now the Manufacture presents the Pioneer Flying Hours, featuring an instant hour change. Whereas the first generation of Flying Hours had gliding numerals that appeared and disappeared gradually, this new development in the HMC 240 automatic manufacture calibre allows the hours to jump in an instant, making the time more intuitive to read. You can see three apertures on the dial, with each hour appearing instantly in the next aperture clockwise.

The Pioneer Flying Hours is available in two models, housed in a 42.8 mm case. There is a 5N red gold model with black DLC titanium inserts, featuring an aventurine dial. It is limited to 100 pieces.

The second version comes in stainless steel and it is part of the Pioneer collection as a not limited timepiece. It has a white fumé dial with sunburst pattern and a subtle industrial aesthetic.

On the dials of these two models, stripped of any logo and indices, several satellites rotate: In the centre, the main disc, which has been completely skeletonised, displays the minutes over an arc of 120°; three smaller discs are arranged around this disc, hidden under the dial, turning around their own axes and revealing the hour numerals in turn in a window on the dial.
