Maurice Lacroix presents the new AIKONIC line, with advanced materials and technology. Made in the Swiss Jura, the AIKONIC reflects the brand’s commitment to quality and accessibility.

Maurice Lacroix has launched the sportier AIKON collection in 2016 as a direct descendant of the Calypso line from the ‘90s. The initial quartz collection was extended with a skeletonised automatic reference in 2018, followed by the time-only AIKON Automatic. The AIKON quickly became the best-selling urban watch of the brand with different models. As a kind of natural evolution, now the company introduces the AIKONIC line.

The new AIKONIC collection embodies ‘innovative craftsmanship’. This term, abbreviated to ‘IC’, refers to the use of new materials for the dial and case, the new ultra-refined movement and the introduction of the patented ML Easy Change system for the straps. The novelties have 43mm stainless steel cases (brushed and polished) and brushed and polished ceramic bezel – currently available in three colours: black, white or blue. Supplied on a matching sporty rubber strap featuring a rubber textile-look insert, the AIKONIC is equipped with the patented ML Easy Change. It allows the wearer to change the bracelet very quickly without any tools.

The AIKONIC features a carbon dial, which incorporates numerous fibres running north to south in one direction and appear as grey and black lines. As part of the dial making process, the arrangement of carbon fibres will always be slightly different, resulting in each dial having its own unique appearance.

Maurice Lacroix collaborated with Soprod, a movement specialist located less than 10 km from the ML Manufacture in Saignelégier, to create the new ML1000 Calibre with power-reserve of 60 hours. The balance bridge is secured with two screws, delivering superior stability and attractive symmetry. The oscillating mass is large, boosting reliability, and openworked, granting sight of the beautifully decorated movement. The finishing includes blued screws, perlage and Côtes de Genève.

Stéphane Waser, Managing Director of Maurice Lacroix, remarks about this new collection, ‘The AIKON has been a huge success for our company and hopefully this will continue for many years to come. With the AIKONIC we wanted to demonstrate our know-how by creating a watch incorporating much innovative craftsmanship along with locally sourced components. The result is a highly specified model featuring new materials, new ideas and a high level of finishing, all culminating in a watch with a distinctive flavour of the Jura that delivers accessible excellence.’
