The start of the exhibition season is quite relative. It is a fact however that during the upcoming months the Middle East as well as Europe will be noisy with the excitement of jewellery and art shows.

Let me sum up a few of the upcoming events that I find interesting.

October 2012

  • Jewellery Arabia (16-20 October) – Manama, Bahrain – jewelleryarabia.com
    JA in Bahrain is one of the key shows that jewellery houses await every year in order to meet many current and potential clients from mainly Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Over 600 exhibitors showcase their pieces at the event for an audience exceeding 40.000 visitors.

November 2012

  • Dubai International Jewellery Week (21-24 November) – Dubai, UAE –  jewelleryshow.com
    Around 300 exhibitors representing 30 countries showcase at the Dubai World Trade Center. The exhibition also organizes and hosts one of the most prestigious design competitions in the Middle East, the Jewellery Design Awards.

January 2013

  • Vicenzaoro Winter (January 14-19) – Vicenza, Italy – vicenzaorowinter.it
    Fiera di Vicenza has many events throughout the year, the 3 key gatherings are the Vicenzaoro Spring celebrating the fusion of fashion and design, the Vicenzaoro Fall which is the top international meeting point for demand and supply channels and finally the Vicenzaoro Winter – the first trend setting international gold jewellery and merchandise fair of the year.
  • SIHH (21-25 January) – Geneva, Switzerland – sihh.org
    If you are into exclusivity and niche brands you must follow the news from Geneva. Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) strictly addresses Fine Watchmaking. Organized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), which guarantees the Show’s independence and safeguards its vocation of quality and excellence, the SIHH is a private, invitation-only event for the distinguished guests of the exhibiting brands.
  • GTE (20-24 January) – Geneva, Switzerland – geneva-time-exhibition.ch
    Another exciting event in Haute Horlogerie is the Geneva Time Exhibition. GTE is dedicated to cutting edge designs, creativity and the finest quality. The fair is exclusively reserved for members of the watchmaking industry, for the international specialist watch media, and for private collectors.

February 2013

  • Inhorgenta (22-25 February) –  Munich, Germany – inhorgenta.com
    Messe München presents on 65.000 m2 of exhibition space and is the most comprehensive overview of current and future developments in the world of jewellery and watches. Visitors can enjoy many presentations about trends, markets and gemstones. If you cannot make it, read my blog to keep up with the latest from the show or watch Inhorgenta TV online.
  • Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (to be announced) – Doha, Qatar – dohajewels.com
    DJWE strives to become the chosen venue for product launches in the world of jewellery and watch design and manufacturing. It is definitely one of the most anticipated events in the Middle East – and also probably brings the highest sales revenues for exhibitors.

March 2013

  • Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (5-9 March) – Hong Kong, China – www.hktdc.com/fair
    The HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show is one of the world’s top jewellery events. It offers a wide range of high quality jewellery, timepieces and gemstones, such as diamonds, coloured gems, pearls and rubies, to buyers from all over the world. The show celebrates its 30th edition in 2013 by returning to its regular position in the trade events calendar.
  • International Jewellery & Watch Show (14-18 March) – Abu Dhabi, UAE – jws.ae
    Organized at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) the show is dedicated to high-end jewellery and watches.

April 2013

  • Baselworld (25 April – 2 May) – Basel, Switzerland – baselworld.com
    During the close to 100 years of its history, the exhibition grounds have been enlarged and modernized many times to provide an ideal and exclusive setting for companies presenting their masterpieces. In 2012 we enjoyed eight highly successful days, with more than 100.000 professional visitors and with a very strong media presence: 3,320 online and offline journalists were in attendance.
